Punjab Forest Department has achieved a significant success for environmental protection. The department has implemented the vision of “Green Punjab” by planting 10,000 trees on an area of 14 acres.
This tree plantation campaign was launched on the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, in which students, women, and members of the local community actively participated.
According to the Forest Department, this new urban forest is being developed as a “Community Managed Forest Block” where the youth have been entrusted with the responsibility of taking care of the trees.
Parliamentary Secretary for Forests Kanwal Liaquat said that this project is a valuable asset for future generations.
On this occasion, social activist Ghulam Rasool set a new example of environmental protection by donating 10,000 trees. He said, “Trees are both worship and shade, it is a gift to my land.”
