ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a high-level committee, taking notice of the concerns raised over tax reforms under the Finance Bill 2025.
The committee has been directed to suggest measures as soon as possible that would be effective in preventing the possible misuse of powers by the FBR tax officers.
The committee will be headed by the Finance Minister and will include the Law Minister, the Minister of Economic Affairs, the Minister of State for Finance, the Special Assistant on Industries and Production, and the Chairman of the FBR.
According to government sources, the aim of this decision is to restore the confidence of the business community and taxpayers and make the implementation of the budget more transparent.
