Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while inaugurating the Pak Business Express at the Lahore Railway Station, said that he was happy to see a pleasant change in the railways today. He said that this train is not only for the elite but also a manifestation of modern travel facilities for ordinary Pakistani passengers.
The Prime Minister said that the old ticketing system has been abolished and a digital system has been introduced, and the new train has been equipped with berths, business class, and kitchen and dining facilities on the lines of European railways.
He praised the efforts of former Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, saying that “he repeatedly gave briefings, got land released, and played a full role in improving the condition of railway stations.”
The Prime Minister said that the railways have been handed over to Hanif Abbasi, and this is the first step to strengthen the foundation of Pakistan’s public transport system. He said that “the destination is still far away, but the first step is encouraging.”
Moreover, Shehbaz Sharif also described economic growth, reduction in inflation, CPEC-II, and achievements on the diplomatic front as major achievements of his government.
