PTI Govt ‘Ate Wheat Funds’: Uzma Bukhari

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has accused the former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government of embezzling funds meant for wheat. Speaking at a press conference, Uzma Bukhari stated that during the PTI’s tenure, former Chief Ministers Usman Buzdar, Pervaiz Elahi, and Farah Gogi misappropriated funds from wheat procurement.

Uzma Bukhari further alleged that a “mischievous group” is engaged in conspiracies and spreading fake news, criticizing “prominent intellectuals” for commenting without reviewing audit reports.

Regarding the government’s new initiatives, the provincial information minister announced that following the “Suthra Punjab” (Clean Punjab) campaign, a new drive called “Punjab Sudhar” (Punjab Improvement) has been launched. She emphasized that maintaining law and order in Punjab is a primary responsibility of the government.

Uzma Bukhari also presented statistics to claim an improvement in the province’s law and order situation. According to her, the rate of robbery incidents in Lahore has decreased by over 43%, while in Gujrat, such incidents have fallen by 23.5%. Similarly, Multan has seen a 50% reduction in robbery cases.
