Punishment of May 9 criminals was a requirement of the law: Federal Minister for Information

Ata Tarrar

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, while addressing the National Assembly, has said that the events of May 9 were not just an accident but planned actions for which the criminals were punished according to the law.

He said that “When incidents like May 9 happen, you will have to suffer. You damaged the monuments of the martyrs, the statue of Captain Colonel Sher Khan, now you are being punished.”

He added that if anyone has an objection to the decision, then go to court, making noise in Parliament is not the solution to the problem. “These sentences have not been given on the basis of emotions or revenge, but in the light of solid evidence.”
