Lahore: Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz issued official instructions to launch complete operations against rising prices in order to help the people throughout the province. The Chief Minister has issued direct orders to his commissioners and deputy commissioners that demand aggressive measures against price hikes and stockpiling activities while requiring daily performance reports.

Maryam Nawaz led a video-link conference that included all commissioners and deputy commissioners to guide them in maintaining essential commodity prices while offering high-quality affordable goods to public consumers. The Chief Minister declared that businesses must showcase official price lists visibly in order to help citizens find correct pricing details.

As part of her efforts, she required the Chief Secretary of Punjab to actively monitor the anti-gouging and anti-hoarding campaign. Maryam Nawaz made it clear that monitoring essential items’ supply and demand must remain constant, and immediate action must be taken to stop hoarding practices. The management should generate daily price trend reports for official oversight of market conditions.

The Chief Minister explained that governments worldwide decrease essential item prices during Ramadan, so we should likewise participate in this voluntary price reduction. The provision of quality goods should happen at prices below market levels in utility stores, according to her statement. Maryam Nawaz conducts daily inspections of essential commercial prices through the dashboard system to prevent irregularities in pricing.

She warned that price gouging and hoarding activities would result in swift enforcement measures and that all levels of administrative oversight in this drive would face severe consequences. According to Maryam Nawaz, the government prioritizes giving the public both quality and budget-friendly products, which all responsible departments need to execute properly.
