Remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis in December 2025 have once again provided strong support to the country’s economy.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, a total of $3.58 billion was transferred home in December, which is considered a strong performance on a monthly basis.
According to the data:
- Saudi Arabia continues to be at the top
- The United Arab Emirates is in second place
- The UK and European countries also remain prominent
This trend shows that overseas Pakistanis are constantly connected to their families and the country.
According to economic experts, the increase in remittances shows the confidence of Pakistanis despite global economic pressures.
Due to remittances:
- The depreciation of the rupee remains limited
- Import payments are facilitated
- Inflationary pressures are reduced
- Banking channels are strengthened
Experts say that if the government further facilitates the digital remittance system, remittances could reach $45 billion in the coming years.
The December 2025 remittances have made it clear that overseas Pakistanis are the backbone not only of their families but also of the entire economy.
