A suicide bomb attack took place outside the District and Sessions Court in the capital’s G-11 sector on Tuesday, killing at least 12 people and injuring 27, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said.
Officials said the attacker waited outside the court gate for about 10 to 15 minutes, and detonated the bomb near a police vehicle when he could not enter.
Video footage showed vehicles on fire and cracked glass strewn around, while lawyers and court staff were in panic.
The interior minister declared it a terrorist act, and the investigation into the attack is ongoing from various angles. He said: “This is not just a bomb blast, it happened in the capital.”
However, it has not yet been confirmed who has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack. Some sources are naming Tehreek‑e‑Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
