Those who dream of wiping out Iran are ignorant of history: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that the Iranian nation is the heir to an ancient and strong civilization that no force has been able to wipe out in the long journey of history.

In his statement, he said that Iran’s civilization spans nearly six thousand years and during this time, this nation has faced numerous challenges and historical ups and downs.

President Masoud Pezeshkian said that history is a witness to the fact that many invaders came and went to Iran in different periods, but the Iranian nation remained true to its identity and existence.

He said that those who dream of destroying or eradicating Iran are actually ignorant of history and need to learn lessons from past events.

The Iranian president said that Iran has always faced difficulties and pressure and even today the Iranian nation is united to protect its dignity and sovereignty.

His statement came at a time when tensions between Iran and the United States are increasing.

It should be remembered that US President Donald Trump had recently threatened Iran, saying that if Iran tried to close the Strait of Hormuz or affect shipping there, very strict action would be taken against it.

The US president had said in his statement that if Iran continued to close this important sea route, it would face severe consequences and the US could respond with twenty times more severity in this matter.

According to analysts, the escalating rhetoric between Iran and the United States is not only increasing tensions in the region, but may also have an impact on global energy markets, as the Strait of Hormuz is a crucial sea route for global oil shipments.
