Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian’s first official visit to Pakistan

Islamabad: Iranian President Dr. Masoud Peshkeshian arrived in Pakistan on his first official visit, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed him at the Noor Khan Airbase. The distinguished guest was given a 21-gun salute, while a red carpet welcome and military honors were also presented.

The Iranian president arrived in Lahore, where he was welcomed by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Masoud Peshkeshian visited the Iqbal shrine and wrote his impressions in the guest book.

The visit aims to promote trade, economic, and border cooperation. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi met Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad, where detailed discussions were held on regional stability, border security, and bilateral trade.

Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar described the visit as “of utmost importance.” According to the Foreign Office, President Masoud will hold delegation-level talks with Pakistan’s President Asif Zardari and the Prime Minister.
