Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with President of Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Masoud Peshkeshian in Islamabad, in which both leaders reiterated their commitment to further expand bilateral relations.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, in the meeting, Ishaq Dar paid tribute to the brotherly and historical relations between Pakistan and Iran and said that the two countries are strongly connected on religious, cultural and historical grounds. He said on this occasion that Pakistan wants to take economic, trade and political cooperation with Iran to new heights.
President Masoud Peshkeshian appreciated Pakistan’s continuous support and expressed hope to promote cooperation in various fields. The Iranian President also expressed his desire to continue political and economic talks with the Pakistani leadership.
In the meeting, both sides agreed on joint efforts for bilateral trade, energy and stability in the region. Ishaq Dar said that we stand with Iran and all possible cooperation will be continued.
