Karachi: The Sindh government has taken a major step to relieve the public from the burden of expensive electricity. Free solar systems will be provided to domestic consumers using up to 100 units of electricity.
According to the Sindh Energy Department, this scheme is being launched especially to provide relief to the poor and middle class. The receipt of applications will continue till August 20, 2025, while deserving people will be selected through a lottery.
According to initial estimates, more than 123,000 applications may be received from across the province. The aim of this scheme is not only to reduce electricity bills but also to promote alternative, environmentally friendly energy.
A spokesperson for the Sindh government has said that this step is an important step towards clean energy along with dealing with the energy crisis. The public is requested to submit applications as soon as possible so as not to miss out on this benefit.
