Islamabad: According to the latest Gallup Pakistan Business Confidence Survey, the business community’s confidence in national direction in Pakistan has reached a four-year high. The survey reported that there has been a reduction in political and economic uncertainty and an increase in confidence in the government’s economic policies.

According to the survey, the country’s direction score has improved to minus 2 percent, which is the highest level since the fourth quarter of 2021. 46 percent of businesses expressed confidence in the current government’s economic policies, while last year this rate was only 24 percent.

According to Gallup data, 61 percent of businesses rated their operations as “good” or “very good,” while the services and trade sectors have shown significant improvement. However, the pace of recovery in the manufacturing sector is relatively slow.

Expressing satisfaction over the survey report, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the highest level of confidence after four years is the result of the government’s policies, and the efforts of the economic team, including Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, are commendable. He said that the scope of consultation is being expanded to provide more facilities to the business community and investors.
