Senate Elections: PML-N re-expresses confidence in Rana Sanaullah

Islamabad: The ruling party PML-N has once again decided to give an important role to party leader Rana Sanaullah from Faisalabad for the Senate elections. According to party sources, this ticket issued from the Punjab Assembly is actually part of a strategy to bring him back into national-level politics.

Rana Sanaullah had lost the National Assembly seat from Faisalabad in the general elections on February 8 this year, however, the party leadership has finally decided to give him representation in the Senate as a senior leader.

Party circles say that the presence of experienced and aggressive leaders in the Senate is the need of the hour to strengthen the political narrative in Punjab.
It should be noted that this seat fell vacant due to the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Senator Ijaz Chaudhry, for which a by-election will be held on September 9.
The Election Commission had disqualified Ijaz Chaudhry from Senate membership under Article 63(1)(h) last month after he was convicted in a terrorism case.
