Islamabad: The Foreign Office has expressed serious concern over India’s intercontinental ballistic missile test, saying that this move could prove dangerous not only for the region but also for global peace.

The spokesperson said that India’s missile program will accelerate the arms race and pose serious threats to strategic stability in the region. He urged the international community to abandon double standards and take notice of India’s growing missile stockpile.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said that Pakistan is committed to a full-spectrum deterrence policy for the security of its people and regional peace.

He further said that Pakistan considers CPEC as a comprehensive development project that is strengthening the country’s economy and regional connectivity, while in the future CPEC will guarantee the prosperity and development of the region.

According to the spokesperson, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will pay an important visit to Bangladesh tomorrow, with the aim of further promoting high-level relations between the two countries.  However, no visit by the US Secretary of State to Pakistan in October has been planned.

He also highlighted that Pakistan and friendly countries continue to cooperate closely in counter-terrorism and the international community is now taking India’s campaign of terrorism and targeted killings in Pakistan seriously.
