Monsoon rains wreak havoc in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 406 people dead and 3,500 houses affected

Islamabad: Recent torrential rains and flash floods have caused significant devastation across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A report from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) confirms that the natural disaster has claimed the lives of 406 people and injured 247 others since August 15.

​The report details the casualties, noting that those who died include 305 men, 55 women, and 46 children, while the injured are 179 men, 38 women, and 30 children.

​The destruction has also hit infrastructure hard, with 3,526 homes partially or completely damaged, leaving thousands of families in desperate situations. In response, officials have initiated relief operations and are taking emergency measures to help those affected
