Famine in Palestine, humanitarian aid should be provided immediately: Ishaq Dar

Jeddah: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said at the extraordinary meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers that the famine imposed by Israel in Palestine has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis, therefore it is imperative to provide immediate emergency aid.

Addressing the meeting, he said that innocent Palestinians have been martyred in Israeli attacks in Gaza, including about 60,000 children. He said that attacks on hospitals, schools and refugee camps are a clear violation of international law.

Ishaq Dar called on the international community to take steps for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, provide immediate and safe access to humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, and reject Israel’s Greater Israel plan.

He said that Pakistan stands with the Palestinian people and supports a two-state solution based on the pre-1967 borders.

In the meeting, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said that Israel’s unilateral actions and attacks in Gaza are serious violations of international law. He made it clear that the Greater Israel vision is unacceptable under any circumstances.
