Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that development activities have started once again in 9 towns of Karachi and Jamaat-e-Islami is serving the city beyond its means.

Addressing a ceremony in Karachi, he said that we also have to keep an eye on Murtaza Wahab’s projects, while the S-3 project is still missing from the scene. He said that the promises of the Karachi Circular Railway are limited to words, the Red Line project has destroyed University Road, and the Orange Line has failed to cover the entire Orangi Town.

Hafiz Naeem said that the government is fooling the people by bringing 400 buses. He announced that the Jamaat-e-Islami will continue its struggle against the system of loot and occupation so that the citizens get real relief.

He said that despite winning the local body elections, powers were not transferred to the towns. The PPP got its mayor elected through arbitrary delimitation and rigging. According to him, the Sindh government also has the authority to collect garbage, while the people themselves bear the cost of collecting garbage from their homes.

The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami alleged that obstacles were being created in the work of Jamaat-e-Islami representatives through the city warden. However, he said that the Jamaat-e-Islami is working on sewage, sanitation and development projects in its towns itself.

He said that in the last 15 years, the PPP has not done any great work for the city, only continued the politics of occupation. He said that education is not a charity but a fundamental right of our children.
