KSE-100 index closed at 172642 points

The Pakistan Stock Exchange continued to gain momentum for the third consecutive trading day, with the KSE- 100 index closing at 165,736 points, up 1,269 points.

At the close of business on October 28, 2026, the benchmark index stood at 165,736.75 points, up 0.77 percent compared to the previous trading session.

The market witnessed volatility during the trading session. The index initially came under selling pressure, but it recovered its position as buying increased in the latter part of the day.

During the day, the KSE-100 index touched a low of 164,355.82 points, while its high was recorded at 166,100.33 points.

Earlier on Tuesday, the stock market was bullish and the index closed at 164,467.20 points after increasing by 1,428.73 points. Thus, the market saw a positive trend for the third consecutive trading session.

Business activities also increased on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. More than 578.1 million shares were traded in the ready market, with a total value of Rs 26.20 billion. In the previous session, about 402 million shares were traded for Rs 18.07 billion.

Market capitalization also increased by about Rs 114.86 billion to Rs 18.33 trillion. At the end of the trading day, the share prices of 269 companies increased, 180 decreased, while the prices of 47 companies remained unchanged.

The continued buying trend in the market despite the increase in policy rates by the State Bank indicates an improvement in investor behavior. However, the direction of the market in the coming sessions will also depend on interest rates, global markets, oil prices and the domestic economic situation.
