Ban on students bringing mobile phones to government and private schools

The provincial government has imposed a complete ban on the use of mobile phones for students in all government and private schools. This step was taken in the light of a resolution passed by the Punjab Assembly, which took into account the negative effects of mobile phones on the academic performance and mental attitudes of children

Key points: Ban and enforcement

Uniform implementation: The ban will be applicable in all schools in the province; no institution will be exempted.

Objective: To increase the quality of education and attention of students and to make discipline effective in schools.

Complete ban: No student will be allowed to bring or use mobile phones in the school premises.

Strict implementation: The education department has sent a letter to all heads of education authorities directing strict implementation. In case of violation, the school administration will have the authority to take strict action.

According to government sources, this decision has been taken to improve the quality of attention and attendance in the classroom so that students can fully focus on their studies.
