Special Assistant on Political Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah has said that the voting process during the by-election remained peaceful throughout the day, but some political elements are trying to fuel the narrative of rigging as usual.
Talking to the media, he said that the government does not want to turn political differences into a confrontation, and that is why the Prime Minister had unconditionally invited all parties to join the Pact for Stability of Pakistan.
According to him, the political system is strong only when the institutions and leadership keep the doors of dialogue open.
Rana Sanaullah said that a certain individual has always preferred the politics of chaos and insurgency, and the country has already seen the serious effects of this style of politics in the form of incidents like May 9 and November 26.
He added that the people have always judged by seeing the performance, and it is hoped that people will prioritise development and service in the by-elections as well.
The PML-N leader said that objecting to the electoral process has become a “political habit” of some parties, for which the government has no practical solution.
