Addressing the participants of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Security Workshop, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that establishing lasting peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is no longer just a goal but has become a necessity for national survival.
He said that the nation showed unity in the war against terrorism and the victory against India under the leadership of the Field Marshal has raised Pakistan’s prestige on the global stage.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is moving rapidly towards economic stability and now there is a need to further accelerate the pace of development so that the people get real benefits.
He clarified that if only one province develops and the rest lag behind, it cannot be called national development. According to him, Pakistan will move forward only when all the provinces develop equally.
PM Shahbaz Sharif said that other provinces provided Rs800 billion to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from their share to eradicate terrorism, while Punjab gave Rs100 billion to Balochistan.
The Prime Minister said that saving the youth from extremism and putting them on a constructive path is the need of the hour and the federal government is continuing to take practical steps for this purpose.
He stressed that the entire nation must remain united in the fight against terrorism because national security is the top priority of the government.
