Air operations suspended in Pakistan: 52 flights cancelled due to Middle East tensions

The rapidly changing situation in the Middle East has severely affected Pakistan’s air connectivity. According to the latest reports, 52 bilateral flights going domestically and internationally from various airports have been cancelled, causing severe hardship to passengers.

Situation in major cities
Airport sources say that Karachi Airport was the worst affected, with 20 flights to Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain and Dubai cancelled. 18 flights were cancelled at Lahore Airport, while 10 flights were cancelled in Peshawar. Operations were also partially suspended in Sialkot, Multan and Islamabad.

Airlines and affected routes
The cancelled flights include national carrier PIA, as well as major airlines like Airblue, Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways. According to sources, the total number of flights cancelled in the last one month has reached 2406, which is a worrying record.
