Punjab Govt Issues Kite Flying Regulations 2027

The Punjab government has announced new and strict rules and regulations for kite flying for the year 2027, which aim to make this traditional pastime safe and prevent the loss of precious lives. The deadline for implementing these rules, issued on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has been set for December 30, 2026.

According to the new rules, only those roofs with a minimum height of three and a half feet will be used for kite flying. The chief minister has urged parents to ensure constant supervision of children and prevent them from going near the edges of the roof. He clarified that there will be a complete ban on running, jumping or aggressively flying kites on roofs.

Furthermore, keeping in mind the public peace, DJ systems and noise-producing devices have been banned. The presence of a first aid kit has been made mandatory at every location to deal with any emergency. The Chief Minister has ordered the administration to take strict legal action against building owners and event organisers in case of violation of regulations.
