Pakistan receives $3.66 billion in remittances in August

Remittances from overseas Pakistanis continue to increase, with the country receiving $3.66 billion in remittances during August.

According to State Bank data, Pakistanis from Saudi Arabia sent the highest amount of money, amounting to $873.5 million. The UAE received $749.8 million, the UK $563.7 million and the US $308.9 million.

The total remittances in the first two months of the current fiscal year were 15 percent higher than the same period last year. Remittances from Dubai also recorded a 35 percent increase on an annual basis.
