The government has fixed new prices of petroleum products for September 23, under which the rates of petrol and high-speed diesel have been reduced.
According to the new prices, the price of petrol per litre has been reduced by Rs 1.70 per litre. After this, petrol will be available at Rs 392.5 per litre.
High-speed diesel has also been made cheaper. After an Rs 3.12 per litre reduction, the new price has been fixed at Rs 418.96 per litre.
According to the notification issued by the government, the new prices will be effective for September 23.
The daily revision of petroleum product prices has been adopted in view of the changes in crude oil prices and other related factors in the global market. In recent days, the global energy market has been volatile, due to which changes in local fuel prices are also emerging.
The reduction in petrol prices may lead to a slight reduction in the monthly fuel expenditure of private vehicle users. The reduction in diesel prices may have an impact on the cost of goods vehicles and other diesel-powered transport.
Earlier, for September 22, the government had fixed the price of petrol at Rs. 393.75 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel was Rs. 422.80 per litre.
