Investors remained cautious during the trading week at the Pakistan Stock Exchange, but the benchmark KSE-100 index ended in the positive zone.
At the end of trading, the 100 index closed at 168,580 points, up 120 points. The market fluctuated during the day and the index moved in a wide band of 1,206 points.
According to market sources, investors were focused on the political and economic activities taking place in Islamabad. In this situation, cautious buying and selling was seen in the market instead of a big boom.
A total of 580 million shares were traded in the stock market, worth about Rs 22 billion. The trading volume reflects that investors remained active in the market, but the overall trend was limited.
Buying and selling of shares of various sectors continued during the trading session. An increase in the overall value of the market was also recorded at the end of the day.
Market capitalization increased by Rs 35 billion to Rs 18,747 billion. Thus, despite the limited momentum, a slight improvement was seen in the overall value of the stock market.
According to analysts, in the upcoming sessions, investors will give importance to the country’s political developments as well as economic data and policy decisions. These factors can have a direct impact on the market trend.
In the current situation, investors’ attention is focused on the performance of various sectors and the fundamental financial indicators of companies, rather than being limited to the index level alone. These factors can play an important role in determining the direction of the market in the coming days.
