Interior Minister Condemns Attempt to Derail Peace Agreement”

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the firing on government vehicles in the Baghan area of Lower Kurram, describing it as a deliberate attempt to sabotage the peace agreement in the region.

In his statement, Naqvi expressed his solidarity with the victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud, who was among the six people injured in the attack.

The interior minister termed the actions of the attackers as “heinous” and emphasized that such incidents aimed at undermining peace would not be tolerated. He further called the attack “condemnable” and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the area.

The firing left six individuals injured, including Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud, three bystanders, an FC official, and a police officer. Authorities are investigating the incident, and security forces have been deployed to maintain order in the region.

The attack highlights the continued challenges in maintaining peace in Kurram, where efforts to restore stability face ongoing threats from elements seeking to disrupt progress.
