Maryam Nawaz’s pro-people initiative: Launch of free digital certificates in Punjab

Lahore: In a major and revolutionary move for the citizens of the province, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has introduced a policy of providing birth and death certificates free of charge. This decision has been taken under the recently implemented “Birth and Death Registration Rules 2025,” which aim to provide modern and convenient government services to the public.

Now citizens can obtain computerized birth and death certificates without any fee; even seven-year-old registration has become possible without any court permission. The registration process can be completed through local union councils and municipal committees.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said in her statement that this initiative is to save the public from legal complications and provide easy access to civic amenities. He also emphasized that digital birth and death certificates will be mandatory for all government services in the future.

This policy is a reflection of the Punjab government’s transparent and digital governance, which demonstrates its commitment to empowering citizens and making the system easier.
