Islamabad: The National Highways and Motorway Police has issued a travel advisory to ensure the safe and comfortable travel of millions of citizens on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. According to a Motorway Police spokesperson, people visit their native areas in large numbers on Eid, due to which an unusual rush is expected on the roads.
The advisory asks citizens to thoroughly inspect their vehicles before traveling, including checking engine oil, brakes, tire pressure, and coolant. Drivers have been urged to fasten their seat belts, adhere to the speed limit, maintain distance, and maintain lane discipline during the journey.
The Motorway Police has clarified that it is important to rest after every 2 to 2.5 hours during a long journey, and driving while sleepy or tired can be extremely dangerous.
In case of complaints of overloading or overcharging in passenger vehicles, citizens can immediately contact the helpline 130. The Motorway Police is ready to serve and guide the public at all times.
