The Pakisatn Bureau of Statistics report has revealed that Pakistan’s trade deficit crossed $6 billion during the first two months (July and August) of fiscal year 2025.
According to the data, the trade deficit in August 2025 was recorded at $2.868 billion, an increase of 30.13 percent on an annual basis, but it decreased by 8.81 percent on a monthly basis.
According to the report, the country’s imports in July and August were $11.115 billion, up 14.23 percent from the previous year. In August alone, the volume of imports was $5.285 billion.
On the other hand, exports saw a modest increase overall. Exports in July and August were $5.102 billion, an increase of only 0.65 percent. In August, exports fell by 12.49 percent on an annual basis and 9.98 percent on a monthly basis, limiting the volume of exports to $2.417 billion.
