SBP

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially notified the revised office and public dealing timings for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan 1447 A.H. According to the circular issued on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, all commercial banks, microfinance institutions, and DFIs will follow shortened hours to facilitate observers. Furthermore, the central bank has declared the 1st of Ramadan (expected Thursday, February 19) as a “Bank Holiday” for Zakat deduction.

Under the new schedule, for public dealing, banks will operate from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Fridays. Office working hours will extend slightly until 3:00 PM on weekdays. The SBP has directed all banks to ensure that ATM services remain functional 24/7 during the holy month to mitigate the impact of reduced branch hours. Customers are encouraged to utilize digital banking platforms for utility bill payments and fund transfers to avoid the midday rush at physical branches.
