Minor reduction in petrol and diesel prices

The government has made a minor reduction in petrol and diesel prices for August 29, 2026. The new prices will be implemented from 12 midnight tonight.

The price of petrol has been reduced by 58 paise per litre. After this reduction, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 342.2 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel has also been reduced by 17 paise per litre. The new price of diesel will be Rs 371.44 per litre.

The Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Energy issued a notification of new prices of petroleum products on August 28. According to official records, petrol and diesel prices were also reduced slightly in the previous revision.

The recent price reduction is minor. Therefore, consumers are unlikely to feel a significant difference in the prices of petrol and diesel.

According to the new prices, petrol will be available across the country at Rs 342.2 per litre and high-speed diesel at Rs 371.44 per litre from August 29.

The revision in prices of petroleum products is done keeping in mind the global market, import costs and other relevant factors. The Petroleum Division has issued price revision notifications several times this month on different dates.
