Petrol Price in Pakistan Jumps to Rs 266.17 — Diesel Also Up for March 2026

The federal government has confirmed a significant fuel price revision, increasing petrol by Rs 8 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs 5.16 per litre, effective 1 March 2026. This latest pricing decision was announced in an official notification from the Petroleum Division following assessments of global oil prices and local economic factors.

Updated petroleum product rates are shown below:

ProductPrevious (Rs/L)Revised (Rs/L)Increase

Diesel (HSD)275.70280.86+5.16

Analysts warn that the price rise could contribute to higher transport costs and inflationary pressures on essentials, especially as diesel prices influence freight and agricultural expenditure. Public transport fare revisions may follow as operators adjust to new fuel costs.
