Petrol Rs 7.54 cheaper; diesel price slightly increased

Islamabad: The federal government has issued a notification for changes in the prices of petroleum products, providing partial relief to the public. The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 7.54 per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs 1.48.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 264.61 per liter and the new price of diesel at Rs 285.83 per liter. These prices will be effective from 12 o’clock tonight.

Experts say that the reduction in the price of petrol may reduce the cost of transport and food items to some extent; however, the increase in the price of diesel will continue to burden the agricultural and industrial sectors.
