The government has changed the prices of petroleum products, making petrol cheaper and high-speed diesel more expensive.
According to the notification, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 3.13 per litre. After the reduction, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 345.87 per litre.
On the other hand, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs 3.74 per litre. After the increase, the new price of diesel has become Rs 378.05 per litre.
According to the notification issued by the government, the new prices will be effective from September 5 to September 7, 2026.
Earlier, the price of petrol was Rs 349 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel was Rs 374.31 per litre.
Under the new prices, the price of petrol has decreased while the price of high-speed diesel has increased. The future rates of petroleum products will be announced after the scheduled review by the government.
