The government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, adding to fuel costs for consumers and businesses from October 9.
Petrol will now cost Rs398.96 per litre, following an increase of Rs2.31, while the price of high-speed diesel has been raised by 78 paisas to Rs395.72 per litre.
The latest adjustment is based on changes in ex-depot prices recommended by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The increase could put additional pressure on transport and logistics costs, with businesses that rely heavily on fuel facing higher operating expenses.
