US Dollar Rate in Pakistan Today – Latest Interbank and Open Market Rates

The Pakistani rupee is being seen showing limited movement against the US dollar. A narrow gap is being maintained between interbank and open market rates. Relative stability is also being observed in the latest dollar buying and selling rates.
In the interbank market, the US dollar is currently being traded at Rs 277.20 for buying and Rs 277.70 for selling. These rates are being closely monitored by banks, businesses and financial institutions. Interbank rates are being used for import payments and major financial transactions.
In the open market, the dollar is currently being offered at Rs 278.00 for buying and Rs 278.35 for selling. Only a limited difference is being maintained between the two markets. Slight variations are being quoted by exchange companies and across different cities.
The direction of the rupee is being influenced by several economic factors. Import demand, external debt repayments, exports, remittances and foreign currency availability are being closely monitored. Global movements in the US dollar are also being reflected in local exchange markets.
Importers are continuing to closely monitor the dollar rate as the cost of energy, machinery and industrial raw materials is being affected by foreign currency movements. Higher dollar rates are causing import costs to be increased for Pakistani businesses. Greater exchange-rate stability is, however, allowing payment and expense planning to be carried out with more certainty.
Currency movements are also being closely followed by overseas Pakistanis because the rupee value of their remittances is being affected by the dollar rate. The overall impact is also being shaped by inflation, household expenses and broader economic conditions.
Remittance flows, export performance, import demand and external financing are continuing to influence the direction of the currency market.
Note: Consumers and businesses are being advised to check the latest rates before currency transactions are being made. Exchange rates are also being revised by exchange companies during market hours.
