Inflation rate in Pakistan slightly reduced, prices of eggs and meat increased

According to the latest report of the Federal Bureau of Statistics, a slight decrease in the rate of weekly inflation has been recorded in the country after a month. According to the report, after a decrease of 0.59 percent in the weekly inflation rate, inflation has come down to 4.18 percent on an annual basis.

According to the report, during the last week, 18 essential items became expensive and 12 items became cheaper, while the prices of 21 items remained stable.

According to the data, eggs became expensive by Rs 8.33 per dozen, large meat increased by Rs 10.66 per kilo and small meat by Rs 2.52 per kilo. Similarly, the price of firewood increased by Rs 22.56 per maund and the price of a ton of ghee increased by Rs 2.37.

On the other hand, the price of tomatoes decreased by Rs 66.21 per kg, while onion became cheaper by Rs 8.49 and garlic by Rs 13 per kg. Sugar, pulses and potatoes are also among the cheaper items.

The report said that the average price of a 20 kg bag of flour has reached Rs 2,195.81 after an increase of Rs 7.39.

According to experts, the fluctuation in food prices is affecting the purchasing power of the common consumer, while the government says that steps are being taken to bring stability to the markets.
