Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Iran has issued a new warning to the US and Israel, saying that its armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any possible military action. At the same time, Iran has also appealed to regional countries to reconsider defence cooperation with the US.
According to Iranian news agencies, Major General Ali Abdullahi, Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said that Iran has formulated its strategy for every possible situation. According to him, if action is taken against Iran based on a miscalculation, the attackers will have to bear the consequences.
He said that the current situation in the region has become more sensitive than before, and now the effects of any such action will not be limited. According to him, Iran is capable of taking necessary measures to protect its security.
Major General Ali Abdullahi also sent a message to regional countries, saying that they should not allow their land or resources to be used for such activities that could cause further tension in the region. He said that such decisions could also make these countries part of the conflict in the future.
He added that Muslim countries should realistically assess the current situation and make such decisions in their foreign and defence policies that strengthen the peace and stability of the region. According to him, prioritising regional interests instead of unconditional cooperation with foreign powers is the need of the hour.
The Iranian commander alleged that the US wants to further expand its military presence and alliance in the region under its strategy, which could increase tension. However, there was no immediate official response from the US and Israel to these statements.
Regional affairs observers say that such statements have come at a time when the security situation in the Middle East has already become the centre of global attention, so diplomatic and defence activities will be closely monitored in the next few days.
