Pakistan has announced that it is facilitating the repatriation of 30 Iranian nationals, including fishermen rescued at sea and crew members of various ships.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that these individuals will be sent to Iran via Karachi in the coming days. Pakistan is in close contact with relevant countries, including Iran, the US and the UK, in this process.
According to details, eight Iranian fishermen were rescued when their boat was stranded at sea and they were rescued by a British ship. Similarly, 22 others belong to the crew of a ship that was recently intercepted by US authorities during an operation.
Pakistan has played a facilitating role in similar cases in the past, when it helped return the crew of an Iranian ship seized by the US.
According to officials, these measures are part of “confidence-building measures” aimed at promoting humanitarian cooperation and maintaining communication between the various parties.
According to experts, Pakistan’s policy is further enhancing its diplomatic role in the region, especially at a time when tensions between Iran and Western countries persist.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Pakistan’s position has always been that humanitarian issues should be kept separate from political disputes and this facilitation is ongoing under this principle.
