Ishaq Dar Urges Global Action on Gaza, Somalia and Kashmir Issues

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the world needs to take practical steps, not just make statements, on long-standing conflicts like Gaza, Somalia and Kashmir to find a lasting solution to the threats to global peace.

According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, Ishaq Dar termed Israeli actions as detrimental to global counter-terrorism efforts and said that such actions are further increasing instability in the region.

He paid tribute to the struggle of the Somali people and said that Pakistan fully supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia. Ishaq Dar urged the international community to reject any unconstitutional action against Somalia.

Regarding Palestine, Ishaq Dar categorically said that the forced displacement of Palestinians is unacceptable in any way. He said that only the establishment of an independent Palestinian state can guarantee lasting peace in the Middle East.

Regarding the ceasefire in Gaza, he said that Pakistan will continue to play a diplomatic role in favour of the Palestinian people in the United Nations and the Security Council.

Talking about Kashmir, the Deputy Prime Minister said that this dispute is the root of instability in South Asia and its solution should be in accordance with UN resolutions.
