Jamaat-e-Islami objects to Karachi mayoral election, alleges rights being snatched

Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has alleged serious irregularities in the local government elections and said that the seats won by Jamaat-e-Islami in Karachi were snatched away through rigging.

In the press conference, he said that PTI had the right to reserved seats but was denied. Hafiz Naeem said that the election of the Karachi mayor is an insult to the public mandate.

He said that I was declared successful on the seat I won, but I returned the seat because it was against democratic principles. He said that when politicians want to increase their privileges, everyone comes together, but no one speaks on public issues.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also expressed concern over the situation in Kashmir and Palestine and said that both India and Israel are violating the rights of the oppressed people.
