LESCO has decided to make a major technical change in its transmission network to deal with the power crisis caused by fog and smog during winters. According to the spokesperson, the company is purchasing modern fog-type disc insulators that will significantly reduce tripping due to moisture and dust.
LESCO officials say that traditional insulators absorb moisture during fog, which results in dust accumulation on the lines and increases the incidence of breakdowns. The new insulators have been specially designed for such weather, and their continuous installation will improve the efficiency of the transmission and distribution system.
According to the company, thousands of consumers had repeatedly faced power outages during the smog season in the past years, which affected domestic life, businesses and industries. In this context, LESCO has decided that power transmission will not be affected this year in winter.
Energy experts say that these insulators will significantly reduce tripping by reducing the effects of moisture and pollution on the lines.
LESCO has expressed hope that consumers will be largely relieved from frequent breakdowns during winters and the power supply will be more stable.
