Major gas crisis in Pakistan: CNG sector closed, alarm bell for industries

After the gas shortfall increases in Pakistan, Sui Northern has taken emergency measures and completely stopped gas supply to the CNG sector. According to sources, only 200 mmcfd of gas is currently being added to the LNG system, which is much less than the demand.

Shortfall likely to increase further

Experts say that if LNG supply is not restored immediately, the gas shortfall will become serious in the next two to three days. Due to this crisis, not only the transport sector but also industrial users are being severely affected.

New plan for industry

Sui Northern sources say that fresh planning has been started, keeping in mind the needs of industries; however, maintaining industrial production in the current situation has become a big challenge.
