Pakistan and China Continue Joint Efforts for Peace and Development, Says Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has termed China-Pakistan relations Pakistan’s most important strategic partnership, stressing continued cooperation on economic development and regional stability.

Addressing an event commemorating the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Dar credited the Chinese leadership for implementing long-term policies that helped lift millions of people out of poverty, describing China’s development experience as a remarkable example of sustainable economic planning.

He said the Communist Party of China has played a central role in shaping the country’s development while also contributing to the strengthening of Pakistan-China relations over the decades.

Discussing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Dar said the initiative is an important framework for bilateral cooperation, which contributes to infrastructure development, investment and economic connectivity between the two countries. He said both governments continue to view CPEC as an important component of their broader strategic partnership.

Referring to recent regional developments, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Pakistan has pursued diplomatic initiatives aimed at encouraging dialogue amid rising tensions. He added that Islamabad and Beijing have maintained coordination on issues related to regional peace and international stability.

Pakistan and China have expanded cooperation in several areas, including trade, energy, infrastructure and security, in recent years. Officials from both countries have repeatedly described their relationship as an “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership”, with CPEC being one of its key initiatives.
