Pakistan assumes presidency of UN Security Council and will host two important meetings: Ishaq Dar

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan has assumed the presidency of the UN Security Council today, and this important responsibility will be carried out in an effective, proactive, and diplomatic manner.

In his statement, Ishaq Dar said that this is Pakistan’s eighth term as a non-permanent member, and we are committed to fully complying with the UN Charter, international laws, and multilateral principles.

He said that in the current global situation, a timely and comprehensive response to the growing conflicts and crises is inevitable. Pakistan is committed to promoting partnership and cooperation with all member countries.

The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan will host two high-level meetings this month. The first meeting will be related to peace and peaceful resolution of conflicts in the world, while the second meeting will focus on matters of cooperation between the UN and the OIC.
