Pakistan Dominates West Indies in Multan Test, Takes 1-0 Lead in Series

MULTAN: Pakistan defeated the West Indies by 127 runs on the third day of the first Test, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Pakistani spinners wreaked havoc on the West Indies batting lineup in both innings.

After posting 157 runs in their second inning, Pakistan set the West Indies a target of 251 runs. On day three, spinner Sajid Khan proved to be a nightmare for the West Indies batters, taking four wickets for just 37 runs in 12.5 overs.

Noman Ali also contributed with a wicket, sending half of the West Indies team back to the pavilion. With a fifth wicket falling at 54 runs, Pakistan further tightened its grip on the match.

The West Indies batting lineup crumbled under pressure, losing their sixth wicket at 95, and three more wickets quickly fell at 123 runs. The last West Indies wicket fell at 123, and their innings ended in just 36.3 overs.

Sajid Khan finished with 5 wickets, Abrar Ahmed took 4, and Noman Ali claimed 1 wicket in the second innings.

Earlier, Pakistan resumed play on day three with Saud Shakil and Kamran Ghulam, but the team faced early setbacks, losing wickets at 109, 113, and 132 runs. Shakil (2), Rizwan (2), and Ghulam (27) were dismissed.

Pakistan’s tail-end collapsed as well, with the team’s last four wickets falling at 142, 150, 154, and 157 runs. Noman Ali (9), Sajid Khan (5), Khurram Shehzad (0), and Salman Agha (14) were dismissed, while Abrar Ahmed remained unbeaten on 0.

Earlier in the match, Pakistan had taken a 202-run lead after the second day’s play, with the West Indies’ first inning ending at just 137 runs. Sajid Khan and Noman Ali had wrapped up the West Indies innings in just 25.2 overs. Pakistan had scored 230 runs in their first inning.
