PIA to start special flights for Arbaeen pilgrims; Bookings open

Islamabad: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced special flights for Pakistani pilgrims going to Najaf for Arbaeen prayers. The flights will be from Pakistan to Najaf from August 8 to 11, while the return flights will operate between August 18 and 23.
The move comes after the government imposed a travel ban on the capital, allowing pilgrims only by air. The ban was aimed at responding to public safety and internal security threats.
PIA has set a fare of US$675 per seat for this special operation. However, pilgrims have also requested more flights and a reduction in ticket prices to make the journey affordable for them.

PIA officials have said that more flights will be operated if bookings increase. Tickets are available after provisional registration, and more details will be released soon to enhance travel convenience.

The announcement was made in view of the important religious gathering, which is one of the largest pilgrimages in the world and is attended by millions of Pakistanis every year.
