Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that it will observe November 26 as ‘Black Day’, marking one year since the party held a major protest in Islamabad demanding the release of its founder, Imran Khan.
According to the party’s fresh instructions, this year’s observance will not include a central or large-scale demonstration. Instead, district-level protests will be held across the country.
PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar, in a statement, directed all regional and district bodies to organise peaceful demonstrations within their respective areas.
He further instructed MNAs and MPAs to visit the families of workers who lost their lives during party movements and express solidarity with them.
The party leadership has also scheduled Quran Khwani in Hayatabad, Peshawar, where workers will gather to pray and record their protest.
The announcement signals PTI’s strategy of decentralised political mobilisation at a time when the party claims its workers continue to face pressure. Leaders say the day will be observed to highlight what they term “injustice” against the party’s founder and supporters.
